Environmental Policy

Bansal Ltd Environmental policy

Bansal Ltd is a family owned company sympathetic towards its business activities’ impacts on the environment.

We strive to continually minimise our environmental footprint via the following means:

  • Vehicle Emissions
  • Ensuring our vans are never any older than 3 years old and are serviced on time to a schedule to maximise engine efficiency.
  • Use of electric forklifts throughout all of our branches.
  • Education and training of drivers on fuel efficient driving techniques and strict implementation of our anti idling policy
  • Careful planning of driver routes before every delivery to ensure only the most efficient routes are used.
  • Monitoring of fuel efficiencies and miles per gallon on each van. Any anomalies are looked into and action taken.
  • Electricity
  • Electricity use is minimised by all of our bulbs being low energy bulbs combined with motion activated lighting in our warehouses.
  • Waste
  • Use of Biffa waste management with a dedicated recycling bin to ensure that everything that can be recycled is recycled
  • Timber and metal is separated from any packaging and disposed of separately.
  • Asbestos and other hazardous materials
  • Asbestos and other hazardous materials will only be removed and disposed of by specialist licensed carriers and contractors. Any work or disposal of this type of material will be subject to specific risk and COSHH assessments.
  • Paper
  • Re-use of discarded photocopying paper and of redundant paper retrieved by the business as notepaper has reduced the amount of paper used by the office.
